- How do I get newspapers for my classroom?
Choose "How to Get Newspapers for Your School" from the Information menu, print and fill out a grant request, and fax it to us at 225-388-0746.
- Is there a limit to how many papers I may receive?
There is a minimum of 10, but there is no maximum number you may receive. You may receive papers Monday – Friday, and Sundays.
- What is an affidavit?
An affidavit is issued at the end of a grant. It reflects the papers you received during the time of your grant and it must be signed and returned to us at the end of the school year. Your principal may sign it, but you are responsible for getting it to us.
- How should I thank the sponsor for our newspapers?
We ask that you be creative and thoughtful when thanking your sponsor. Handwritten notes are best, however, a nicely typed note on school letterhead is acceptable, as well. Please do not fax thank you notes to us to send to your sponsor. We will not forward any faxed thank you notes. All thank you notes should be sent to: The Advocate, Educational Services, PO Box 588, Baton Rouge, LA 70821. We will forward your thank you notes to your sponsor.
- How do I get a speaker to come to my school?
Contact Judy Terrase at 388-0635 in order to request a speaker for your school.
- How do I schedule a tour for my class?
Contact Charlene Robert at 388-0352 in order to set up a tour of the production facility.
- How do I get end-rolls for my class?
Due to the efficiency of the new presses, end-rolls are no longer being offered.
- What are the in-paper features Educational Services offers?
We offer Louisianaon Mondays, BubbleGum Rapper on Tuesdays, and Keeping It Current for Kids! on Wednesdays.
- How can I get mini-newspapers for my class?
Use the materials list under “Teaching Materials” to order mini-newspapers and other teaching guides and posters.
- Who do I call if my newspapers don’t arrive at school?
Call Evelyn Huckaby at 388-0228 to report any problems with your school’s newspapers.
- How do I get a specific business sponsor for my classroom newspapers?

For a poster-sized Veelox copy, please call The Advocate at 225-383-1111 and place your order. There is a fee for this service.
To obtain a copy of the actual page from the newspaper, call Veronica Ricard at 225-383-1111 and request the newspaper for a specific date. You will be charged the cost of a newspaper.
